Bourgogne Aligoté «La Doyenne des Clos» 2021

Though this grape variety has been associated with Kir for some time, today Bourgogne aligoté is being recognized for its own aromatic characteristics, worth savoring in a glass on its own.
A very concentrated wine, both citrus and green apple, with notes of bitter almond and cardamom.

Producer advice
An atypical white wine to accompany atypical dishes like smoked fish, but also sushi, crustaceans, grilled saltwater fish, or dry chevre cheeses. To enjoy in its youth.

There are records of the Aligoté grape variety in Burgundy dating back to the 17th century. It flourishes in the region and is found in the départments of the Saône-et-Loire, the Côte-d’Or, and in the Yonne, where it reflects the diversity of each terroir. This grape variety has enjoyed the official appellation BOURGOGNE ALIGOTÉ since 1937.
Located high above the village of Couchey in one of the driest parts of the appellation of Marsannay, this parcel of almost 100-year-old vines is home to a historical, unique genetic selection of Aligoté.

With a soil of Comblanchien limestone, very rare in the appellation, this terroir gives the resulting wine a dynamic energy in addition to richness and volume. Low yields, very late harvest.
