This wine combines the intensity and structure of some Fixin premier crus, the freshness and vivacity that characterizes the appellation of Marsannay, and a ripeness which lends a southern touch. Each of these factors combine together to give the wine a style of its own.

Considered to be the golden gateway to the Côte de Nuits, the Marsannay AOC stretches out over the villages of Chenôve, Marsannay-la-Côte and Couchey. Though the presence of vineyards in this village is only attested to since the 7th century, the prestige of these vineyards has been recognized for quite some time. Wines from Marsannay graced the table of King Louis XIV and Louis XVI…

It is the only village appellation in Burgundy to make the 3 colors of wine: Red, Rosé, and White.

The vineyard is situated on the far southern edge of the appellation of Marsannay, above the village of Couchey. It faces south and has a soil mostly composed of Comblanchien limestone. Many different types of southern Mediterranean plants grow at the top of this parcel, making it very unique. The vines are massal selection and about 40 years old.

Completely de-stemmed, aged in barrel for 24 months. Given the powerful style of this lieu-dit, we have chosen to age a portion of the wine in new oak.
